Dead Walnut Tree Removal in Thornham

TBH Tree Care was recently called to safely remove a dead walnut tree that had fallen in Thornham, Norfolk. Due to its weakened structure and restricted access, traditional climbing techniques or the use of a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) were not viable options.

Our Approach

Upon inspection, it was clear that the tree’s condition made it unsafe to work on using aerial methods. With no stable structure to climb and no way to position a MEWP due to limited access, the only safe solution was to carry out a ground-based felling operation.

Once felled, the walnut trunk was processed into 8–10 inch rounds, ready for splitting and firewood use. The brash was stacked neatly on site as requested, creating natural habitat and limiting waste removal.
